SAP's Human Capital Management module holds employee master data: name, employee code, grade, cost centre, manager and approval hierarchy, work location, and designation. On each login the system can retrieve the employee's current details and store them locally, so approval routing and policy checks — which depend on grade and travel type — happen automatically. This removes the manual hierarchy checks finance teams typically perform.

Integration with SAP FICO

SAP's FICO module manages finance data such as travel expenses, general expenses, invoices, credit notes, and cash and forex advances. When an employee submits an expense and the manager approves it, the summary moves to a verifier queue. Once verified, TravelGrid can post the expense line items automatically into SAP FICO. The manual task of entering each line item into the SAP portal disappears, along with the associated human error.

How the integration is secured

Direct integration with SAP is often avoided for security reasons. A common and safe pattern is to place a web service in the middle: TravelGrid calls the service, which handles the interaction with SAP. This keeps SAP isolated while still delivering end-to-end automation.

Authentication to match your environment

TravelGrid supports LDAP, Active Directory, and ADFS authentication, and can enable single sign-on through third-party or proprietary SSO engines. Users sign in with corporate credentials, and access control stays consistent with your identity systems.
